Folds Like Fabric

Walking along the seashore is akin to meditation with the camera. I am totally focussed on what I’m seeing through the lens. I almost cannot walk, without this tool.

Ambling beside the River bed, towards the estuary,  where the River Chapora flows into the Arabian Sea, I was completely charmed when I saw the water flowing into folds like fabric would.

As a textile artist, where fabric has been my life for about five decades, I was delighted at this configuration of water.

Here are some glimpses of what I saw.

  1. Hi Gopika, beautifully captured, these photos are definitely some of the best I have seen. You see textile everywhere because your eyes are completely enveloped with threads of the colours of this world. Keep clicking.

  2. I love the color and composition of these photos. Beautiful! I have never seen anything like it. And I love that you saw the water folding like fabric - what a unique perspective.

  3. Thanks Kelly. Did you not see the ‘folds’ as fabric? I walk by the seaside on an average of 2 days a week, and can’t stop photographing the waves and their shenanigans. In the 8 years that I’ve lived here, and thousands of photographs taken, this was the first time I actually made that connection.
